Monoposto’s 2023 Penultimate Race Weekend

Updated: Sep 25, 2023

This weekend at Road Atlanta is the next to last event on this year’s Championship schedule. For the second time this year on the Monoposto schedule Historic Sportscar Racing returns to the iconic Georgia track. And in three weeks Road Atlanta will be the setting for the final IMSA WeatherTech series race, the MOTUL Petit Le Mans. This weekend vintage racers get their chance to compete on the same track in an event that will move us closer to championship decisions for those competing in one of the eleven class series that Monoposto hosts. In just seven weeks (following the conclusion of our last event at COTA) all our 2023 champions will be determined.

Last weekend at Road America there were dozens of open wheel entries from formula Vee to Indy lights with special single class races for a couple of our car classes. In a sharp contrast to this is the sad news that this weekend’s entry list shows only a handful of open wheel entries so we will all be in one run group. Furthermore, Indy Lights is the only class in the group with multiple entries.

As a result of the low entry count there will not be a Monoposto party at this event. However, Monoposto racers are welcome to come to the GMT paddock for a snack and beverage during the weekend. If you are able to drop by, I look forward to seeing you there.
